How to build a carrot farm (simple)
In this build we will build a simple carrot farm in Java 1.21.5.
This is a very simple build and it would be ideally be built at the start of the game. The carrots are grown naturally the only addition that makes them grow faster is the addition of torch's and a water block which will enable the crops to be in the light and watered at all times. This is a player orientated farm and the player will have to plant, grow and harvest the crops.
The product of this farm is carrots here's a breakdown of what carrots can do.
Food - carrots are a food source for the player.
Breeding - carrots can be used for breeding pigs, rabbits an d villagers.
Growing - carrots can be planted to grow more carrots. Each carrot drops between 2 and 4 carrots when harvested.
Crafting - carrots can be crafted with gold nuggets to create golden carrots, which are used to brew potions of Night Vision. Golden carrots also provide one of the highest saturation levels when eaten.
Ingredients - carrots are an ingredient in crafting a carrot on a stick, which is used to control pigs when riding them.
To grow carrots you will first need to obtain carrots. These can be found at the following places.
Village farms - players can harvest from village farms.
Zombies - have a chance to drop carrots.
Shipwreck supply chests - will sometimes contain carrots.
Dungeon chests - will sometimes contain them.
Bucket
Torch
Hoe
Gate
Fence
In this section we will discuss the materials and the ingredients that we need to make this build. This will give a concise list of the items and the recipe's to make them.

Here we will explain in detail how to build a carrot farm (simple) in Minecraft. Please follow the instructions carefully.

The first stage of this build is to dig a 1 block hole and then fill it with water.
This will ensure that your farm is permanently watered.
In the next stage we create the section where the carrots will be planted.
To complete this section you need to hoe the ground 4 blocks out from the flat of the water block in all directions.
Then hoe the gaps to create a 9 block x 9 block square.
Ok, so lets now place some fences around this patch.
This will ensure that no mobs can enter this area and damage your carrots.
Remember to leave a 1 block gap in the fence.
Ok, lets light this up.
We need to put a stone block (any block will do) above the water block, leaving a gap between the water and the block.
Place a torch on each side of the block. The reason for this is two-fold, the one reason is that the area where the carrots are will be lit permanently meaning that the carrots will grow in the night as well as in the day.
The next reason is that it will stop mobs spawning in the area.
In this stage of the build we plant the carrots and then watch them grow.
The final stage, we need to place the gate in the gap that we left earlier. The carrot farm is now completed.
What can go wrong - trampled crops.
The only thing that can go wrong with this build is if you do not enclose the crops properly and mobs walk onto them and crush them
How to make the build easier.
To make this easier to build if you place down three blocks over the water and then destroy two of those so that you have the block to place the torches onto.
